Official PM 1

This PM started late due to the rehearsal for the arrival of the important CHINAMEN on Friday. Our beloved PL and APL departed to prepare the road for the CHINAMEN. In the meantime, the Sec 2s bravely took charge in explaining to the sec 1s about camp, a task that was made easier by the fact that the PL had already done so at an earlier opportunity. 
The PM was kicked off by a vigorous bout of PT at the Rajaratnam Block. After doing one round of circuit, we proceeded to the Tiger Lair where the Tigers received their Scout Manuals. We studied signalling for 1 1/2 hours, covering NATO phonetics, Morse code, semaphore and Ground-to-Air signalling. The Tiger Boss is UNIMPRESSED by your standards of signalling and exhorts you all to study at home.

First PMs

Now that the skating course is over, we will begin to have troop activities and PMs proper. There will probably be one or more of the following activities for troop acts:
Sports
Patrol/batch dynamics (very likely)
War Games.

The schedule for PMs remains unchanged. First official PM is on 22 April.

PMs, Manuals, Gadgets

Hi All

First an addendum to the PM schedule. We will be having a training session on tentage and layout practice as well as another on gadgets.
Samuel Swee has kindly provided me with several manuals developed by him ,however, they happen to have a  picture of an Orca on the front.
Manuals included are Signalling, Knots(incomplete, you can ask ME for a manual instead) Cloud Forms(full colour) and Survival.
Email or tag if you want one.
Also, I will be visiting the Army Market for supplies this Friday. Those interested are welcome to follow. I will not buy anything for anyone (not made of money you know)

Send in your ideas for ALL SIX gadgets. The winners will receive cake.

If your entries for more than one gadget are selected, you will not receive more cake.

The standards are as follows.

-Utility (strength, functionality, space, ease of use, stability)

-Economy(gadget poles used)

-Innovation of design (efficiency, aesthetic appeal) This is the LEAST important of the 3.

Remember: Ten people in the patrol going for camp.

Gadget poles are 70cm long

Tacos are 2.5-3m long.

Informal PM 1

This PM was a last minute thing because there was no skating lesson.

As a result, Matthew and David and Alex were not there. 
What we covered-
Activities during camp: Layout, war games, inter-patrol games, cooking, hike, camp dev, PT and punishment, VOJ, batch dynamics, sentry duty, station games.

Basic training-Footdrill, standards of PT.
Things to note: Patrol is generally fit except for sec 1s, focus to be on them during PT sessions.

Tentative PM Syllabus

Patrol Meetings will begin on 22 April and be held once a week. below is the tentative syllabus.

All PMs begin at 4pm. There will be a short PT session of half an hour consisting of running@Raja block, pushups, crunches and other exercises.

Patrol Meeting 1: The Sec 1s will learn basic foot drill and discipline for half an hour. During this time, sec2s will study ASS knots. After this, signalling (morse code, semaphore, G-A and NATO phonetics) will be covered until 6.15.

PM 2: First Aid from 4.30-6.00. Everything covered by Standard First Aid course to be studied. Sec 2s to bring manual.

PM 3: Knots and Ropework until 6.15. May have no PT today.
Sec 1s- SS Sec 2s-ASS/1st Class Alex-First Class. Me-Everything
Ropework to be taught- Dead man's crawl, commando crawl, howto pick up items from ground, turning.

PM 4- Survival skills.
